Dear Massachusetts Library System Members,

I am writing to invite you to the first in a series of MLS Member Forums.  The focus of this event is “Resource Sharing at MLS.”  It will be held on February 26, 2014 at the ABS Information Commons, Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Bourne.  These forums are part of our efforts to enhance communications with our member libraries and to gather feedback on our plans as MLS continues to evolve.  Register

The agenda begins with a brief update on MLS’s resource sharing efforts, which will be followed by discussions designed to gather your feedback about our plans.  Lunch will be provided.  An optional tour of this unique and “green” facility will end this half-day event.

MLS is building a new resource sharing team to work with members to enhance ILL and eContent statewide.  At the meeting you will meet three members of the MLS team:  Stephen Spohn, Resource Sharing Director, Sue Kaler, ILL Manager, Deb Hoadley, Team Leader for the eBook Pilot Project, and members of the Executive Board.  We need your feedback as we design the transition of services from our ILL centers to MLS and as we look at the future of eBooks and databases.
