PDPs (Professional Development Points) – School Librarians

MLS is an official PDP Provider for School Librarians seeking certification or re-certification. We offer a wide variety of workshops which can be fit into an Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP)

School librarians can select professional development options from several different threads: technology, literacy, and administration.

Technology workshops include learning new programs, software, equipment and social media to use with students and teachers.

Literacy workshops include reader’s advisory, new books and database training.

Administration workshops include strategic planning, reference methods, and collection development.

MLS can award a Certificate of Professional Development for a minimum of 10 PDPs. Per DESE regulations school librarians have 5 years to complete a minimum of 10 PDP hours; there is no maximum.
