The Basic Library Techniques classes are required for MBLC certification of libraries serving populations under 10,000 if their librarian does not have a Masters in Library Science degree. Most of the small libraries requiring these classes are in the western part of the state. One BLT series will be scheduled in the western part of the state each fall, and a spring series will be scheduled annually in the central, northeast or southeastern part of Massachusetts.
