School Library Update/eligibility Process Begins

To our school library colleagues:

MLS periodically updates its member directory information and verifies that libraries are eligible to receive MLS services. Our staff is about to begin this year’s process.  We contact school libraries on a rolling basis, and if your school is  an MLS member, you’ll receive an update request at the email address on file in the MBLC library directory. If you check the directory and find the contact information is out of date, please let us know so we can send the survey link to the correct address.

Public school librarians must have a current DESE-issued library teacher certificate. Charter school and private school librarians must have a current DESE-issued library teacher certificate or an MLIS degree from an ALA-recognized graduate library program.  A list of eligibility requirements is available on our website.
